Bond Hearing of Man Who Shot 8 Year Old Boy in the Face

A 46 year old man accused of shooting an 8 old child in the face had his bond reduced from $2.2 million to $1 million.

Brian Cloninger was seen by witnesses waving his gun at people before the shooting. He is charged with injury to a child – a felony with a sentence if 5 to 99 years in prison. He remains on bond in the Dallas County jail.

The boy, Maiden, was shot in the parking lot of his home while playing with friends. After hearing gunshots, a resident of the apartment approached Cloninger standing by his pickup and asked whether or not he shot the child.

“Yes I shot that kid,” Cloninger told the witness, according to the arrest warrant.

Maiden has remained in the hospital since the shooting and is scheduled for another surgery.
